Visual Studio Installation

All students in College of Business Administration may go to https://azureforeducation.microsoft.com/devtools to download Visual Studio for free. The current version installed in computer labs is 2022, but new version should be fine to install. Here is a brief instruction to install the software for all IS courses.

1. Login to https://azureforeducation.microsoft.com/devtools using UA ZIP ID like js01@zips.uakron.edu
2. Choose "Download Free Software"
3. Search for "Visual Studio" and select Visual Studio Enterprise 2022 to download.

4. Press View Key and take note of the product key since you will need it to activate your license
5. Press Download button to start the download and it may take a few minutes 
6. After finishing the download, double click on the downloaded software to start installation. Make sure you choose .Net desktop development, Universal Widows Platform development, and ASP.Net and web development, and make sure to select Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation under Installation Details (see screen shot below).
7. After installation, make sure you activate the software license by entering the product key from Step 4 above.
